Summer Activity across the North East & North Yorkshire!

Lots of Club Creative activity happening this summer. Starting next week at Roseberry Primary School Great Ayton with a week of activity including circus skills, jewellery making, cartoon workshop, t-shirt design and African drumming.

We also have fantastic workshops through Extended Schools happening in Filey, Northallerton, and two weeks in Malton & Pickering where we are running the Step Up 7 Transition Days for Y6 kids who are moving up to the four secondary schools in September.

Guisbrorough Police have asked us to provide creative workshops for young people as part of an initiative to reduce anti social behaviour during the summer holidays.

We have a great mosaic project happening over a week in Saltburn Learning Campus. 20 pupils from the primary and secondary school will work together to produce a mosaic and a mural which will installed in the school entrance to welcome everyone in to the new term in September.

With a week long summer arts school in Kilton Thorpe Special School in Brotton and our own Club Creative Shakin Shakespeare drama school at Layfield Primary Yarm, it’s going to be a busy busy summer!

If you are interested in any of these activities please get in touch.

Kilton Thorpe Special School 'Artstock' a huge success

Phew, just back from the school where the 11-18yr old kids were taken off timetable for the afternoon and given a taste of what a festival is like . Club Creative was asked to provide a drum and percussion workshop, circus skills, massage therapy, face painting, balloon modelling, and an interactive story teller to help add flavour to the band. This was the first year the festival has run and I think it’s fair to say it was pulled together at short notice but what a huge success! Many thanks to Kate Watson and Adam Reamswood from KTS for getting Club Creative involved in the event. Huge thanks to the artists especially Ian Paine and John Colledge for giving up their time to photograph and film the day’s proceedings – footage will appear on this site over the next few weeks. The day also featured the official unveiling of Derek Mosely and Helen Gaunt’s mosaic which has been created over several weeks with pupils involvement and takes pride of place outside the school.

KTS were really impressed with the way the day went and plan to make it an annual event. A GREAT DAY!

Club Creative Shakin' Summer Drama School!

Club Creative and tutor Rebekah Ghosh are teaming up to run a week long drama school. Taking place from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th August, children will stage an abridged version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The school is open to 7-11yr olds and will be taking place at Layfield School in Yarm. Children will learn drama techniques and will work towards a short performance on the final day for family and friends.

The drama school is in response to many enquiries that Beka was receiving from parents and pupils at Club Creative after school drama clubs. The clubs have been running successfully for several weeks in four primary schools in Yarm and Eaglescliffe.

Please see the attached flyer for more info.

You don’t have to live in Yarm or Eaglescliffe to take part but your child must be able attend each day.
