Performing arts projects in Scarborough Secondary Schools

We’ve just had confirmation of funding for a series of 2 hr workshops over 20 weeks in four Scarborough Secondary schools. The projects are designed to increase motivation in the classroom and will use drama and performance techniques to increase pupil’s confidence, self esteem, and aspirations. Club Creative is very excited about the projects as they provide the opportinity to work with a group of young people over a prolonged period enabling us to really make a difference to their lives. Thanks to Liz Dent at Scarborough Extended Schools.

More details will follow!

First workshops a success!

Club Creative’s first workshops went really well today. Southbank primary school was a hive of creativity with some amazing african masks being designed by each and every child. The masks will go on display in the school before the children take them home.

The fun activity day in Guisborough was really well attended by several hundred children and adults with input from local police, fire brigade, wall climbing experts, information points and of course our fun (and noisy!) drum workshop. Look out for more CLub Creative activity at these week long events over the coming year.

Southbank Primary Summer School

Our very first workshop kicks off on Thusday as part of a week of activity at Southbank Primary’s Summer School. Artist Cheryl Baines will lead three groups through some fun mask making workshops during the course of the day. Each child will go home with their own mask which they will have designed and made from scratch.

This workshop resulted from an email I sent to all schools in Redcar & Cleveland a couple of weeks before the schools hols. Not great timing I know so I was pleased to get a response from the Head Teacher who needed some activity booking in at short notice.

Remember if you require more information on the type of activity Club Creative can offer your school, youth group, community centre, Church Hall or any other space, please get in touch.
